Starturbo off here uses his as a daily driver. We used to travel near enough 900 miles a weekend home & back to Scotland every weekend for around 6 months before he switched jobs.

No probs with it: bar when we hit a brick & it crushed the exhaust

Just carry out the checks before as described, and take a supply of bulbs, fuel pump relay, and a few other bits & bobs that you may need in an emergency.
