Don't worry about the bearing bit Smokey XR (nice name ) just having a giggle If that had happened the engine would have siezed, snapped the con rod, smashed the head to bits and you'd be in serious trouble.

Have a poke around the dizzy cap for now - until you can do a compression test to investigate further
