the cold start valve only works while cranking, once running the metering head and management control the idle speed. It WILL NOT BE THIS.

Have you got a vacuum gauge?

as for the warm up times.......CVH's are notorious for long warm up times, however you should get some warmth from the heaters before the gauge has moved, so as mentioned i would check the thermostat. If need be replace it, get one from halfords theyre about £4 with a gasket, i used one of these in my re-build, car runs VERY cool indeed
