This will work for most browsers:

Click on the Help menu at the top, there should be an option in there marked "About...": click on it, it should tell you the exact name and version number of the browser you're using.

I don't remember NTL using a proprietary browser in the way AOL used to enforce, so it's likely to be a "re-badged" version of IE.
