Right, where do i start.

Car is a Ford Escort 1.8 Zetec Si

Problem is when accellerating the car looses power at about 3000rpm, it also has a tendancy to drink fuel like its going out of fashon.

have unpluged the air flow meter and it stopped loosing power, but still drinks fuel like its going out of fashon.

Looking for suggestions of what to try to get the car running better.
