no it doesn't weaken the signal, cos they're not all used at the same time.

there is a limit to how many phones can be on one line though - each phone has it's own rating.

personally, i would go cordless. you only need one base station (or 2 if you need to cover a large area, have thick walls etc) and several hansets can be registered to those base stations.
