Tried depressing the metering head flap and it does help a little. After finding a couple of air leaks I removed the whole vacum/breather system and reinstalled it from scratch ensuring we had no rogue pipes or leakages.

Only disconnected the cold start to see if this may be a cause/part cause to the prob.

The wiring fault Rob mentioned has to be sorted before we can progress further but that's a little beyond me
