um so i just remove the module and put a meter across the connertors and it should give 0.5v rising, i don't have to turn the engine or dizzy do i.
You need to connect your meter across the two connectors and make sure you set it to AC volts. You should be getting 0.5 AC volts rising with the engine turning over. This tells you the dissy is working.

Easiest way to check for switching at the coil is with a test light.
Cant remember if it is switched live or earth so just check for both.
Connect a test light one side to earth and probe the wires @ the coil one at a time, one will be live, then Turn the engine over and the other should flash (do the same thing with the test light connected to the positive incase it is switched earth)
If it flashes then your coil is fooked. If it doesn't flash and the dissy checks are ok then you will need a new ignition module.

Im sure you know but make sure you have a strong battery while doing these tests or you will get wrong results

ps: what was the problem in the first place did you brakedown or been modding somthing eles?

Keep us updated on how you get on. Good luck.

pps: would of saved you alot of time if you was in the AA.
I carry these modules and would prob of had you back on the road within no time
