All it is is a lower rubber strip that goes onto the front bumper, XR3i's have them also! (only applies to the non 90 spec bumpers though)

I got one cos you can see the front anti-roll bar without it, so to cover it i used the deflector.

They do require a bit of bashing to get on cos of the way its used to secure it.

I guess the best thing to do with an 88 spec bumper is to put the deflector on, in a world where people go with 90 spec bumpers.
