Exactly my next thoughts john. I was going to say a sticking valve/sticking lifter/or fooked lifter!

Take the lifters out of their bores on cyl 2(inlet and exhaust). If either of them have been sticking the underside of one will be very worn(sometimes rounded off cam). If not it could be a valve sticking!
