You can apply power to it seperately and see if it energises, but thios wont telll you if the ecu is activating it.

Best bet is to simply either:

A) Unplug it and see if the boost drops
Or
B) Bung the bleed output and see if boost drops.

Electron valve is correct for the 2 port valves, and it is in escense the amal valve as found on earlier models, it just works on a slightly different principle.
