go for a 2.8 m8.i've had mine now 4 yrs use it all the time and the engine is NOT uninspiring goes like the clappers and it great fun in the wet , Arse out round roundabouts a bit of weaving up the road when giving it some.....thats when consumption goes down as for insurance get a classic cover i pay 148 for 5000 miles,

And its not miles to the gallon its smiles to the gallon m8

I had a 2.8 in a XR4x4, and it was like shaking a bag of spanners at anything over 4000 rpm, whatever. I then had a 2.9 and it was nicer, but that had a zorst and K&N to help it along.

And yes... people with 4i say it feels quicker than 4x4i.
