nick sorry but a good manager does know all about the business, its not just pie charts and DOC

the staff will respect a manager who they can ask questions to and have a detailed reply

where do the staff get there true infomation from there, how do they know they aint talking bollocks

how many times do you complain that ford know nothing about your car, thats cause they belive that the microcat system will allow any idiot to find the part you need, the problem is though that its not the whole picture

how can you deal with a result if you dont understand it yourself

sorry but its true, asmuch as good proven managment is needed, most companies think thats all you need just like you are doing

to be a the BEST manager you would have to start at the bottom and understand what the at the least the yearly changes are, unless you have a good team already but if that was the case they wouldnt employ outsiders as management would they

very few top end managers would do a total business swop and think they can do it all, as they will be new again and make the basic mistakes

big nige seem a fooking class manager and knows lots and lots of stuff in managment, but ive noticed he still works in the food industry where he started evolving

would you trust your life with a bean counter who employs doctors based on salery and his managment skills/record

and then i wont even talk about when my sister was a manager at marks and spencers, she had all the right answers she was fed by the ivory towers

notice they sold the ivory to get the share holders some cash back

then theres public services, another group of management people who managed to do nothing else but add more money

then theres the post office

shit i could go on for days

not even mentioned ford yet
