nick in all honesty what company can not make a internal management system work ???
thats my point, ivory tower managers DO give me the hump, prob why i work with a manager who hates em too and he prefers hands on management, lead by example and spend time with current staff to allow them to grow
senior management of most companys is about what THEY can get, not what they can giove the company and in my opinion there are too many who blag there way and do nothing but act very well, after 2 years thats the true test but by that time there at another company doing the same thing
think its all the managment courses that teach people how to read a business, it dont mean they can actualy understand it and what they done at mcdonalds or at tgi fridays aint gonna be the same as working in a large company
dont forget that halfords managers dont even control the stock they sell nor to they control the amount they sell
they aint managment, there puppets who serve customers
how can a company think of employing a electrical retail manager to understand how another business works, that takes time to understand, even the little things like extra orders on batts in december,
thats why im against it, its the employ him as we cant actually do our jobs type company
btw i am actually defending the halfords genuine managers and my focus is on the higher,,,,,,,,, thats even though i quit cause my manager was a total cock but not all managers are, the last one i still chat to on msn and he agrees with me
but good luck, just think that halfords would be a bad move for a person who wants to succeed in life considering the hours involved in halfords
oh and they also had a graduate scheme in place that a former memeber of staff who worked his bollox off, tidied the store all out ect, his brother and his own MUM works there and they made him apply for the job in head office via a external agency
and he never made the second interview as they didnt think he was suitable
he knows alot more about halfords than a job agency does but they still knocked him back
