An interesting point for everyone is that my own car uses a modified 2wd elbow. It is possible to open up this elbow (by welding extra material onto the short side radius to allow for internal porting) to equate the same C/S area as a 60mm ID pipe (i.e. same as my boost hoses) and this has proved adequate for in excess of 600bhp with a correctly designed plenum.
