there's actually a few definitions.

My omex has hard cut and soft cut. Hard cut is when it will hit the set rpm, and just bounce off it, bapbapbap - the revs stay there, but missing away.

On soft cut, it starts to cut the spark to each cylinder in turn for about 200rpm before the actual setting. If does feel softer, as the missfire gets worse as u approach the setting.
