I'm using a Piper Cam with their Solid Followers with their Double Valve Springs, but getting Cam wear problems.
The springs are 290lb.
They specified 12 Thou Clearance for the Inlet Valves and 14 Thou Clearance for the Exhaust Valves.
Within 500 Miles we are getting measurements of approximately 20-21 Thou average.
I am now on the second Cam which is totally fooked and to be honest, I have just about had enough of it. Everything has been done to the letter from assembly to running it in. I still believe that I couldn't have done it any better, but still it appears to wear. There are even signs of material having picked up on a couple of the lobes.

< Real Tears.
What do I try next? I have 3 options.
1. Lower poundage on the Valve Springs.
2. Smaller Valve Clearances.
3. Altering the Cam Profile in some way.
I notice that most people specify Valve Clearances of 6-8 Thou, I'm not sure if Piper have specified larger Clearances because of some aspect of the Cam Profile. Is this likely?
Piper have got to the point where they have literally said that they dont know what to do. I am not against Newman to do a Cam, but really aren't keen on their Followers. What are RS1600i Followers like? Are they even still available?
HELP!!! (Because at this rate, my car is going to end up in bits).
