We dont know which bushes you are talking about!

Refer to the pic further up .. and tell us exactly what you have a problem with .. referring to the numbers there.

The bush pairs are 7/8 (lower pair .. .after spring, large end first, is placed in bottom of column) The larger one (7) locates into the lower column tube slot, as it is compressed and bolted up at positions 34 and 41.
5/14 This provides the top bearing/bush. The thin one needs tapping in to the lock housing assy.
9 is NOT a bush as such .. It's a support for the seal assy (which you should also check for holes) and fits inside 10, locating over the lip in the bulkhead/floor..
