Don't bother with 40s either as they don't supply enough fuel to a fast meaty Pinto, 45s are a minimum, 50s on most engines are too big.
Also depends on whether you've got the budget to fuel such an animal cos 45s/48s take a lot of fillin up if used regularly.
If he can afford to build the car with all the mods sugested above then I think fule bills are going to be the last thing he thinks about!!
