Hmm sounds really weird. I am no expert on electrics but maybe failed voltage regulator can give such symptoms? Lack of charging form alternator can be e.g. the wires conneted not properly and loosing contact - My Escos had one wire loose on the alterntor and there was no charging on small revs/little electricity use. The warning lights coming on are prbably due to ECU's detecting voltage too low for operation ane shutting down. It's probably still on warranty so make Ford boys some hell.
