Is there any differences in performance between the 2 above, other than (im guessing) with the router you'd be able to connect other computers???

if not, then im guessing the bottom one would be cheaper as it only needs 1 extra cable (crossover) and the modem. is that right???

if that is the case, what do you recommend as a good modem for this???

And can you explain how this avoids the problems with XP64 drivers???
is is because the ethernet onboard has 64 bits drivers for it already???
if so, how about the modem, will it need 64bit drivers???

Sorry, alot of questions i know but if i can sort this problem out it will be the end to the ear bashing i keep getting off the other half for not being able to connect via BB..........
