IMO look at the brake system on the car and getting more efficient calipers is the only real way to go to get a good pedal and brakes that actually work, I have never been a fan of the aftermarket grooved discs, especially in standard size.
Uprated pads on the other hand are a worthwhile buy, but not too high heat as once you get them up to heat the discs will fucked
