UPDATE:

got back from work today started the car expecting it to stall so i revved it then allowed it to idle to see how it did and.....

its now working perfectly again. It was idling just above 1,000 rpm which is maybe a tad high but at least its idling

As you can imagine im pleased thats the car has magically healed itself especially after its poor health yesterday but i am still very concerned as to why it happened in the first place.

Can anybody shed some light on this as ive checked all the hoses going...well almost everywhere and i can't see any obvious problems.
