hmm idle speed screw could be worth checking as it has been idling a bit randomly recently!

definately not oil cap as i put a locking one on only 4 days ago as a precaution!

Sometimes (before todays problems) the car would idle at 1,200 and sometimes normally say 900 revs? I thought this could be down to the car being hot/cold.

do you reckon this could be the idle speed screw too?

is there any reason why it would change so much?

finally....what is the correct idle speed for the car? bear in mind that i have a kent cam (car hasn't been chipped) wouldn't this affect the idling (more lumpy...?)
