on the pectel rev 2 p8 board by chance...?

its a know problem....

thanks for your enquiry which has been passed over for me to answer.

The situation you are experiencing is not the same as the problem we had before 181-06.

That problem caused 'kick-back' on cranking as if the ignition timing was heavily over-advanced.

The non-initialisation of the fuel pump is actually related to the cure for this problem. It would appear to be a speed / response conflict within the ECU on first power up. This appears to happen on some cars (or ECU's), but not all.

Unfortunately, PECTEL who initially developed this system for the car no longer offer technical support for the product, they only reproduce the boards for us.

Al I can reassure you is that this is the ONLY slight problem with the boards, there are no other issues. We have had one of these boards in our own Escort Cosworth (K 64 CAR) now for the past 2½ - 3 years, and also supplied them to many other customers World -wide, and no further problems have been experienced. We know that if you go through your alarm disarm procedure, turn on the ignition the first time, turn it off and back on again, the fuel pump relay will initialise, and the engine will start.
