The casings are totally different.

The bell housing on a Transit is about 1 and 1/2 times bigger in diameter than the Cossie. It is also cast in to the rest of the box and has a COMPLETELY different bolt pattern and the starter is on the wrong side. The bellhousing looks massive on a Transit.

The gear linkage on a Cossie is a rod poking out of the back of the box and onto a frame bolted to the transfer box with 4 M8 bolts, the Transit is a turret on top of the box where the stick drops difectly into the top of the box and is held in by 3 Torx T40 bolts.

The reverse light switch on the Cos is a sensor bolted to the top left hand side of the box and when removed, leaves a small opening. The Transit is an actual screw in switch.

The Transit has a speedo drive where as the Cossie box doesn't so the shafts may not mate to the transfer box.

Clutch splines may be another issue.

If you want pictures I can get them for you...
