I know of someone who bought a total loss but repaired car , he knew it was on the hit list but bought it anyway
2 years later he has a crash totaling the car and when the assessor came to his house to collect the documents , keys etc he found the HPI cert passed this on to the insurance company who then told this guy to whistle for any money he thought he was owed
When he contacted them to ask about this the reply he got was " He knowingly bought a previously total loss car he could not claim again the car was a total loss "
He tried to say he didnt know it was registered , but they had the HPI report in his name in front of them and even gave him his credit card details he used to pay for it
TBH I never understand people who buy cars that are on the register as they are so much fookin hassle when its time to sell again
