The S1 has sperical rose joints, not bushes mate.
The alloy has obvious advantages in weight. They stopped using it and went onto the S1 set up due to some legislation of crash testing IIRC...
Not sure about the ARB. I can't see a hollow tube having better torsional stress threshold over a solid bar. The tube will have a very good compression strength though.
