Sorry but how do you know this? I was with Danny for quite a bit yesterday and it had had a Oil change etc the day before,The reason it put a Conrod through the block is thought to be becuase it hasn't been used properly for years

The commentator was saying "we have to get the Escort back on it's wheels before the track can reopen" indicating it had rolled but it hadn't luckily
The car was semi used before this event though, it took part in the display last year and was driven fairly hard for a few laps untill the original 80's slicks gave up, it was also driven up and down a private track pretty hard at times i know this as the last owner is a friend of mine and he was really gutted when he haerd what had happened, he went and spoke to Richard Longman about what happened aswell

How can a car throw a rod, after only three quarters of an out lap, where it was already SLOWING DOWN by the time it got to Craner curves.
Its been blamed on lack of oil as that was the ONLy thing to be changed from its last outing, (even though a list of things that needed doing was given to new owner which was ignored) and there is a very special and ccoorect procedure that has to be followed to fill the car with oil again, due to the baffling in the sump, at a guess i would say this wasnt done, which caused the failure, i am sure the stripdown will reveal exactly what caused it.
Dont get me wrong i am really sorry for Danny and the damage to the car, i hope its gets another engine built by longman, but if the cause is lack of oil then it could so easilly have been avoided.
