cvh bottom end problem
the seal on my sump plug decided to break whilst i was driving down the M40 today, and before i could even get onto the hard shoulder the engine had lost near enough all oil and began tapping and knocking like mad. i got the car recovered to my house where i have now put a new sump plug seal on and filled it with oil to max.
the problem i face now is that seeing as the oil wont get to all the parts of the engine instantly once it has been started up, the few seconds taken for that could sadly be enough to blow up my bottom end as it is dry of oil, and as i mentioned before the knocking noises coming from the engine as i stopped on the hard shoulder were so bad it sounded like the engine was about to go bang any second.
so, is there any way i could get oil into the bottom end for a safe start up or will i have to cross my fingers and risk starting it up as it is?
any suggestions appreciated.
