Default Clutch Release Arm

Fellow passionford'ers!

Im tempted to offer a prize for anyone that can correctly identify the clutch release arm pictured here on the left!

The gold one is standard lotus cortina, the black one is what actually came out of my car - I need to replace the black one...

Please help!

I haven't a clue but why does it need to be replaced?
