Escort Van Runs Lumpy & Loss Of Power...
Hello Everyone
The Daily Smoker is a MK6 Escort Van 1.8 Diesel with a Turbo Diesel engine fitted.
It has the typical cold starting problem but always starts without any issues
But when warm it runs really rough and has a loss of power (Feels Flat & Wont Rev) also its smokes badly when this happens but if you rev it the problem goes ands run fine again but its a constant problem now.
Have changed the fuel filter, glow plugs, leak off pipes and a service but the problem is still there.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
endura diesel? does the smoke make your eyes sting [white smoke] do you get a rapid ticking noise when you first turn the key on [comes from the diesel pump]if no ticking noise fuel control relay on front of pump . also check the boost hose from the airfilter to the turbo it gets contaminated with oil goes all squishy[technical term?] then it collapses when you drive along

& yes you can hear the ticking noise as you first turn the key but does take a few cranks to get it to fire and 9 times out of 10 it will cut out straight away then you start it again and its fine.
Im thinking could it be the Fuel Timing or possibly like you say Gup the injectors. Will check it in the morning and see if i can find any faults. Need to get it running nice so i can collect them Cossie Wheels Gup lol
Anymore info or help will be much appreciated. Cheers
