Two old alarms need removing.
Evening guys and gals.
My series 2 has a a old Gemini Anti Theft Super on it thats lying dormant, and also a Viper 480XV.
Talking to the previous owner, she said the Viper caused them no end of problems in their ownership, and went through three batteries in 2 years.
I put a new battery on the car on Monday ( three days after purchase ), but Im wanting to know if anyone has any experience in removing the Gemini unit.
Ive found a Viper installation guide, which I can use to remove it, but cant find anything pertaining to the Gemini.
Its lying behind the drivers side headlight, and is spliced into the loom. There is no fob or anything for it, but Id like it gone in case its the cause of the drain.
The viper looks straight forward to remove if necessary. Im fairly competent in car electrics, having restored many looms etc over the years.
Anyone have any links, or pointers to help me in my venture? Car will be off the road over the winter, so I can take my time.
Thanks for your time
Have a nice day

I've always just traced the wiring back & chopped out & rejoined wires accordingly.
It because pretty obvious what's been added & what's original loom

PassionFord Post Whore!!
same as above. you could get it done in a few hours just buy stripping back the loom, tracing the wires, and removing that way. good excuse to check over and tidy up the 20+yr old loom anyways!
