Default What's the correct way to adjust rear brake shoes and handbrake?

I'm putting new shoes and adjusters on the rear of my 2000 fiesta, and just wondering the correct way to do it?

I know i'm supposed to loosen the handbrake nut so there's only a few threads showing, anything else i'm supposed to do?

loosen h/brake cable adjust adjusters up fully then back off finally adjust cable to suit 3 to 5 notches I prefer 3 notches as was MOT requirements originally.
