Exclamation SHEER INSANITY! Please post leniantly :)

hi guys, this post may appear awfuly concerning to begin with but bear with me and hear me out. my name is Josh and i'm new to the site. it got reccomended to me by james dommit, a rs cosworth escort owner and a passionate passion ford member (i'm sure many of you know him).
welcome to my conundrum...:
i own a nissan 200sx s13 (i know i have no place being here and am slightly sorry) it's powered by a ca18det...

in the past three months i have experienced the following problems...
  • water pump failure
  • head gasket failure
  • turbo failure... twice
  • inlet manifold gasket failure
  • cv boot failure
  • electrical faults (won't go into detail but they weren't fun)
  • had to replace the intercooler piping
  • exhaust gaskets left right and centre
As if all this isn't enough to lose sleep over, i took my car out the other night and developed a really scary bottom end knock (or death rattle)

i couldn't bring myself to ditch the chasis aswel as the engine as it's set up perfectly for what i want it for with a pretty much bombproof diff and stiff bushes everywhere, but i have had enough of this badly built engine so have decided to go for something more robust. my initial thought was an sr20det from an s14a but i didn't want my car to be common as muck, so then i took a long walk, smoked 35 packs of cigarettes and wound up talking to james. which brings me to what i am doing on this site being an impure jap car owner... he said that for the power i want (260-300bhp) a yb24 would be the way forward. i was told that at that power on a t3 there would be barely any lag and the engine would be reliable. i thought i would post my obsurd plan up on a site full of people that know what they're talking about. with a baffled sump and an oil cooler could a yb24 be good for an amature drifter such as myself? would it be frowned upon? would this freak of a car get the right sort of attention? so many questions, i need some answers guys. any input would be welcomed with open arms. thankyou to whoever posts, josh

i doubt a yb will be the answer.surely all the other 200sx owners that are drifting on whatever engine would be the best for you.you would need to make up mounts, propshaft, piping, somehow mate the 2 looms together, fuel system.the list goes on and on.it would be a cool conversion but it would be a pain.if it doesnt run right, who do you take it to?a cossie expert or a nissan 200sx expert.my friend david waterworth from scotland runs his 200 sx in the drift championships with a 450 bhp skyline engine and i think hes doing pretty well, why not go down that route as it will probably be easier, cheaper(i think a good cossie engine complete and gearbox will set you back about 1800 with all ancilliaties) and you will probably find it easier to get someone to work on it.what about the nissan 300z engine, they are bound to be plentyful!welcome to the site and good luck whatever you do!!
