mondeo 2.5 auto over evving

hi,i have a mondeo 2.5 automatic and its just started over revving,any ideas why its doing this?

Check the fluid level, when HOT, if it's low it can cause this, along with loss of drive.
If the fluid smells at all burnt, then replace it asap as this suggests the brake bands are starting to break up.
