hi guys im back with new years resolutions and finally an update on the build which hasn't been done with months and months
due to cash shortages works been slow as its been all actual work and very little of my own time to work on my hobbie, im sure alot of you guys have been finding it the same. Enough with excuses though its a fresh year and a new liese of life at my car.
last weekend i preped it for paint which i will be doing myself in my own shed. (hold back the crindges)
heres the start of the run through of how i done it
heres what i started with. i then proceeded to jack up the car and remove the wheels. i then removed the windscreen (to be replaced at a later date with a heated screen) doors and rear windows
i then began to mask and paper off the areas i did not want painted (picture above masking tape upsidedown to create a frame for the paper)
then i began to mask off the head lights and grills by the same method
i think you get the jist of what ive done
i then began to fill the plated off fuel cap with fillers and smoothe out my new relocated one
these where sanded down to the required finish
the wings and other parts where sanded down ready for paint. any reactions with primer where sanded down and primed again.
heres another couple of pics of the little things that make the difference to me at least lol
the start of painting underneath
the tryouts of my new harnesses and rear spoiler (rst)
you vote with or without spoiler
do you like the filler pipe?? guess where its from

top marks for ginger. its an intake pipe between the air box and the turbo on a mitsubishi pajero. fuels not effecting it whatso ever and its heat resistant.
plan for the painting process i have an old gazebo so im going to put that up around the car and make a make shift heating bay. going to go the origonal ford rst white for lookalike status.
any other sugestions on what to do next??

That project is looking pretty good now. You have put some amount of work and time into that project. Cant wait to see the finished product.
What colour are you painting this car? Please dont go with "Toffie brown metallic". I hope kevin is not following this thread or he wont speak to me again. Keep up the good work.

hi guys thanks for reading!
saw frozen white on the Clutchs resto it looks mint!! but i still think im going for the standard rst white. when my dad has his series 1 rst non custom restored i wouldnt want mine to be the wrong colour if its a sleeper you know that way.
the next big question in my mind is when can i get the time to do it. as with final year in college and a new job in a different county i never get to go home anymore to work on it. hopefully now soon ill get time off for easter and ill be able to put up a new update.
another question for ye carpet or no carpet. its very difficult to keep the white floor inside clean

hi guys just put it down finally onto the wheels i had hoped to use, standard escort cosworths 16x8s with streched 195 tyres (this was because they where on my ka needs new tyres i know) i came across a bit of a problem.
so ye they are massively outside my archs like as in most of the tyre, (pics dont protray it well) and at full lock there is no coverage at all i can see the inside lip. was told you can go track days with no coverage of wheels is that true?? one benifit from the using the scorpio is i got some serious lock left and right perfect for those times when it gets a bit sideways
also got the other bits ready for paint

Bloody hell, there out far, i'm quessing thats due to the running gear on the granny being wider than a Cossie yer!!!!.
The rears on mine dont stick out at all on standard 3dr rims.
I've just flared one of my rears by17mm which was about the most i could get them out.
Have you thought about something like a Mk2 fiesta MCR arch????
Ginger

Looks Great and nice to see something a bit different.
Slap on some massive arches! Only shame is I think you will have to lose some of your newly painted arches to make it work.
It should be great on the road with such a large track and will sound mint with the V6.
Nice work.

any more information on the arches above as ive looked for sets for ages and cant get any..... loads of people sugest them too, its a case of it would finish the look of my car and my wheels should be comfy under them
