Yay. I'll hopefully have her running again by the end of the week and can get her outside properly for some decent photos.
I'm waiting on a fitting for a fuel hose and another fuel rail (when I find one!). Then get her tracked up again as i was miles out fitting the new rod ends

Quick update.
Not had much time for her over the last couple of weeks.
Fitted the new fuel rail and hose. All works well now. Back together, running and no leaks.
Decided to replace the master cylinder as the seals which the bottle fit into had worn and was weeping a bit and so for the price of a master cylinder I thought id go balls out and replace the lot as the old cylinder was looking tired.
I painted her up and might fit it tomorrow. I'm Going to replace my brake pipes and fittings while i'm there
Oh! and I finally got round to making myself a bench lol
Pleased with that.

I still don't have final power figures as haven't had a chance to get it on the rollers yet. I am very keen to see what its all about now.
Hows you're car getting on?

lol its a ford... had few problems with the head gasket got that sorted, got pectel management all wired up and mapped then the oil light flickered on at 90mph and blew the turbo, so its off the road for the winter or in till I can be bothered to strip it all back down – replace the bearings and find the source of low oil pressure!
Yours is looking nice… wish I kept my escort

Not updated this for a while.
Had a few winter months off from it to do some real work so cars been where I left her, up on axle stands at the back of the workshop.
Charged the battery and fired her up for the first time a couple of weeks ago and she went on the button, good. Trailered it to get the tracking set after replacing the lower arms and track rod ends. Tracked perfect now.
Took it out for a run as the sun was out and oh dear, gearbox!!
So my new CTS stage 2 is coming out and getting swapped with a standard box Loz has kindly lent me, just in time for central day. Why? Because after less than 100 miles in the car its whinning like a bitch on overrun. Bernies going to see whats gone wrong. Just need to get it palleted up and sent back to him now. Bummer!
Loz in action. Out with the new, in with the old

Outside with her new shoes on for the first time
Boxes swapped now. Cleaning tomorrow. Saturday - Sunday Pod!

Thanks for the comments guys.
Still not convinced about the wheel colour.
I think with the roof cut out and replaced with a black carbonised one I think they will suit it more and look a bit menacing!
In fairness, I think the car looks better in the flesh. The iphone cam is crap compared to my old one. Thats my excuse! lol

Cheers mate. I didn't fit the kit it was already on. But i don't think it would be that hard with a bit of thought and time. The bumpers are smoothed though which makes it look a bit different too.
Glad it helped. I have 5mm spacers on the front to clear the callipers. The rear ride height won't really allow spacers or the kit will be pealed off In the flesh the stance looks right to me. I agree in the pics they look a little recessed, if it looked like that in reality I would sort it

Cheers mate. Was a fun day! Clutch was the weak link though. It was slipping at 20psi boost and we could only get it to stop at 10psi so this is getting sorted when the box arrives back from CTS hopefully fixed.
Thanks Nick, I've got a fair few pics on my camera to sort...which I will
Glad its been of some use mate! Just enjoy doing it

Brief update with a few pics.
CTS box has arrived back today. Took 6 weeks in total to sort. Apparently was a failed bearing...sub 100 miles on that box but there you go!
I also had a delivery from Burton's
My AP CP2000-35 Clutch as recommended which I really do hope is fit and forget!
Also had a delivery from Auto Specialists with an Airtex alloy radiator to replace my recently re-cored standard rad which I'd lost confidence in.
Sun was out so donned the speedo's and fitted the rad today. Clutch and gearbox are going in later in the week once the fly wheels back from the machine shop...leaving a few days to test before Classic

Ha ha! If you want to assist in the fitting!
Funny you say that though, had a call yesterday from a spy at my local scrappy. He has me a 3dr mk4 bonus non sunroof lining awaiting my collection.
If Carbon delights are at classic I think i'll buy a roof. Itching to get it done!
Thanks Brian, I'm a fan of your car.

Update: gearbox arrived back from cts fixed under warranty so needed to swap boxes back over and fit new clutch. Ap cp2000-35. Fitted replacement fly wheel which had been machined and lost about about 7mm from the face and 2mm off the back by the ring gear. Replaced the clutch plate bolts as these had been on and off a few times. Had a bit of helicoiling to do underneath chassis side for mount fixings which had worn. Took on the devils job of replacing the clutch quadrant again! - last time out something had moved and some White plastic filings had fallen on the carpet so thought best to check it out. Turned out the quad was ok, changed it anyway as had replacement. The m8 nut on the end of the adjuster had come off and the adjuster had moved off the contact point on the quadrant and slipped down the side which explains the silly high clutch pedal previously. Anyway, seat out, back breaker and back together with level pedals wwwhay! Got some nice fully synth box/ diff oil delivered. Box took 3.2 litres. Gave it an oil and filter change in preparation for classic ford. Final bolt check and road tested it. At first the clutch felt a bit of a handful. Biting very sharp and needing bedding in against the skimmed fly. Over the road test and next couple of days it got better and is now fine. Main thing is it didn't slip!. Ran a held 20psi boost and all good.
Went to classic ford. Did half a dozen runs late on Saturday afternoon. Clutch and box both superb with no problems did however kill the startermotor. Never replaced the starter since I've had the car so guess it was about time lol. Bump started it about 945 Sunday and didn't turn it off till about 2pm. Did 8 runs and all good. Temps were undercontrol which was reassuring. Best run was 14.9@96 which loz did. Next trip out will be on 15s with sticky tyres to see if we can do a bit better.
Car performed reliably so can't complain.
Got a nice new starter (smaller than the one taken off which is nice as now sits further away from the wrapped down pipe by a good inch. Also ordered up and fitted a new turbo return pipe - elbow part. Roose made one up- layer of oil resistant, layer of heat resistant, layer of colour- blue. Smart.
Few pics coming. Mostly dull but might
be useful one day!
