Default arch filled and painted

there was a small bit of bubbling between the teo panels in the rear arch drivers side, decided it needed to be done before things got worse.

grinded down, cleaned, treated and tipped back into shape

filled and feathered out

primed with 2k and ready for paint

basecoat

2 coats of high solid lacquer

where the tape is at the top of the arch on the curve, are you going to wet and dry the join line out as i expect when you take that tape off there'll be an ever so slightly visable line between the new and old paint?

I'll rub it back with some compound by hand should do the trick, if not wet sand lightly with 3000 pad and compaound back up. I didn't lacquer all the way up to the soft edge tape just flicked it out with some fade out. Should be fine

yeah compounding will work, i only asked as i've done some DIY spraying before and i always get a join line between the old and new paint no matter how far away i put the masking tape so i always end up having to flat it back.

looks like a good job you did there though.

Ya I'm lucky enough we've a new spray booth in work so I get to use that whenever needs be. Do you fade out the lacquer when you're not painting a panel edge to edge? Its the best job even if you have no fade out thinners just flick back the lacquer so you have less of an edge. If you have no soft edge sponge tape then fold back masking tape, its best not to have a straight edge. hope this came out right and makes some sort of sense!
