Utrinque paratus - indeed you certainly are!

I love the detail of the switches, this car is certainly my inspiration.

Cheers, lads, means a lot.

Done a bit on the throttle pedal set up. Admittedly, it's taken a lot longer than I planned due to having cut cut/make everything by hand. But it's starting to come together.

Took a tracing off the clutch pedal and made two identical sides from 3mm with a cut out for the balance bar cable.

Joined them with the 12mm ID pivot tube at the base and some 10mm bar at the top them put on a 2mm foot plate with identical dimensions to the clutch and brake pedals.

Then I had a think how to mount it and went a different direction to my original idea and came up with this.

In the car. It's obviously a bit on the piss as nothing's bolted down, but you get the idea. The pedal will also sit slightly higher when the mounts are added underneath the mounting plate.

Everyone was... Including me, if I'm honest. I thought I'd ballsed it up and took it too far. Even my mate who painted it said "Fucking hell! That's going to look a bit Max Power!" When I dropped it off. When he called to say it was ready he said "fair play, it's mega"

Decided matte black tanks etc in the engine bay are too hard to keep clean and nothing really stands out so a colour change is in order. Same matte grey the fuel system is painted in except with a texture undercoat.

Still need to do the oil catch can and boost and top water hose.

Just a quick on of the new throttle. Still a few bits to finish like a throttle stop, torsion spring to return the pedal and tidy up a few bits but at least it works.

I've always wanted S1 arches on it, but I really hate the S1 side skirts. I much prefer the S2 skirts. So I bought a set of smashed up S1 arches, and a spare set of S2 arches and this is happening...

That arch is looking good mate. Are you hoping you going to blend it to the sill or leave it "Motorsport "?

I initially tried to make it like an "over arch" to go on top of the standard ones but I'm going to blend it in now. Probably going to black rivet them on though.

The bonnet is half Mk4 Escort with a Lancia Delta Intergrale bonnet joined into it.

Not had much time on the car as the wife decided to give birth nearly a month early!
But a few little bits done. Rebuilt the driveshafts with new outer CV joints as one was a bit rough and fitted new hub bearings while it was all off the car.
I also had a slight raised area on the front discs from where a smaller calliper had been used so had the discs re-surfaced.

And while I was at it I had Lars knock up a replacement washer bottle in alloy.

Now all I need to do is paint it.

Car is hopefully off to Jano's over the weekend for a fettle, MOT then the road.

Give it some camber you'll have much more room for arch clearance.

I haven't done any more playing with them as the car is down at Jano's place. Will be doing some more to them next month.

It's already running slightly over 1.5degrees. Any more than that will have a negative effect on the handling. They don't touch the arches as they are, anyway. I just prefer the look of the S1 arches.

It's a fibreglass copy bonded onto an original metal inner frame. Needs a bit of work but will be worth it.

These cars respond really well to - camber. I ran 6 degrees front and 3.5 rear on my XR Challenge escort and with the diff it handled fantastically.

Really?! Blimey, that's a lot. I've not heard of anyone running quite that much. Be interesting to see how much of an effect that much has.
