hi guys been a long term ford fan and a friend put me intouch with the website. heres my plan i just wonderd if anyone could guide me through the beleow decision as i know cozzie ownership can be a minefield.
long story peeps but any opinions and advice would help. (hope ive posted this in the right place, sorry if i havent!)
basically ive had two fiesta rs turbo's i loved them both but always wanted something of the cosworth variety for keeps, so when the turbo's got expensive i moved them on. i currently own a leon cupra r 225 which is nice (and reliable) but that urge for a cosworth wont go away.
so... my plan now is to ditch the leon and please the lady with that nice economical golf tdi she always wanted, thus freeing up some cash for home improvements and the cozzie fund! this sound sensible so far??
basically by the time ive done all this, plus saved abit my budget is going to be around the 6-8k mark i rekon, heres my options and where id like some advice.
1. tidy clean and straight saff 4x4/2wd. which is best? its probably gona be a looker more than anything but it will deffo get used on a track probably more in a straight line though than round the bends, although i dont want to rule this out.
2. 2dr sierra coz. not sure what id get for this budget, i love the look of them and im sure they do the biz! ive heard they feel accient when driving them though!
3. escoz. stop laughing i know you need at least 12k for one of these but this is where the insane bit comes in! theres one near me that is apparently straight but it needs a respray new bumper, oh and an engine and whateva else will have siezed or fooked it whilst its been stood for 6yrs(in a garage). the guy apparently wants 12 k for it and is willing to restore it, as in engine and a good polish but that wont cut it! so im thinking that i could take it as it is and do the work as i can afford it, my mates a mechanic and im an engineer but dont know a great deal about cars although id do whateva i can myself. ie rub it down for painting and take stuff on and off with the help of my mechanic friend.
thanks for reading guys as any opinions and advice would be a great help, id love the escort but would it be worth the hassel or should i just get a sierra and enjoy it and take less responsibility in the maintenence of it. basically, IS THIS SANE!?
