Im not planning anything :blub: Ive never managed to keep to the plan any way mainly due to money.

I will just keep plodding along with it and see what happens. Should be painted within a couple months now. Just need to do a few more foreigners to pay for the engine to be finished

A couple more bodyshop pics

And on to some gearbox pics.

Ive opted for a Rear start IB5 with ST150 gear set and a ERST LSD. Dont know how well it will work, or even at all but we'll see.....

Stripped the MK5 Escort gearbox and ripped out the seals

Cleaned the box up inside and fitted new

Got the ST150 crown wheel machined by 2mm to the inside edge so it would fit the ERST diff and fitted it all together

Take note of how wide the crown wheel is compared to the BC type lol

Fitted the diff and selector mechanism in

followed by the gear set

and that is as far as Ive got but nearly there. Need to measure the axial play in the diff and set it up, but need to find out the measurment first

A couple more with a few bits on, now stuck in a corner waiting for the boot and other little bits to be painted. Going to leave the masking paper on the windows for now until the black surround has been done.

The painter who is doing it has gone on holiday for 2 weeks so need to wait a while again. I will just have to keep putting stuff on while its there.

Bet Kim can't wait to see it done?
It's been a long build mate. Nearly there.
You got a oil cooler for it? You'll need one.

Finally got round to doing the window surround's, opted for the satin black. I think the colour looks quite genuine.

The car is definitely starting to look like and XR now which is what I wanted

Told that to Niall today when we where talking about painting the kit

Wasnt 100% sure on the colour of the kit though, he thought it looked more grey but I think just black as per do handles and other plastic bits.. Dont want loads of different colours going on

mate heres an idea, blank off the iscv port and fit a fiesta xr2i 8v iscv as they have the same plug and work the same but they can be relocated easily, i think some have it fitted to the manifold but others have a block with a pipe and the iscv is bolted to the airbox.
infact i have a whole setup in my shed but i need them for my throttle body conversion i am doing

Thats exactly what I have got for it thanks.

The fuel rail blocks the ISCV completely. I have drilled the manifold at the back and added a port for one side of a remote valve. For the other I'm going to use the original take off point for the fiesta valve on the crossover pipe. Hoping it will work factory like

Need to do all the black parts (kit, mirrors, handles bumpers etc... Maybe intercooler to ) and then I can get it water tight ready to get it back to mine ready for a good clean up underneath and engine put in when its finished
