looks tidy that Glenn
when I was at fast ford we had titanium x delivered to us, with 13 miles on the clock.
must have been unlucky for some as I drove it home down the motorway at 145mph, got home, went to put it in reverse and noticed it was a 6-speed gearbox
went well, but liked petrol.

Nice change.
Different driving experience but back to back my ST170 felt livelier on the road against my ST24. You definitely had to work the focus a bit harder to achieve the same pace but the Mondeo felt easier to get up to speed, just the focus felt nervous on the road.
I'd have a decent cone filter on there it definitely wakes them up a bit.

I think i will put a Cone filter on it. Im not bothered about more power i just love the sound of a mondeo V6 with a induction kit. Its already got a panel filterat the mo.

I like MK3 Mondeos, they drive really nice. Always liked the Zetec-S, it's still a nice looking car.
I had an ST220 and loved it. Did 30k in it in a year (it started on 115k) and it never missed a beat, great cars. Sold it for Ł1200 but people seem to ask quite a lot for them.

Not bothered about power gains but it at least sounded as it should.

Looks more or less the same as the one I had apart from the engine as mine was a diesel. I fitted the Sony radio and dash to mine though. The power fold mirrors where also a plug and play affair.

I think i will wait till next month till i sort the filter out.
Mcst.. what filter did you use.
Chris i fancy a sony head unit too cause i think they look nicer than the ford ones. Did you fit the extra relay and wiring so whenyou lock and unlock the car the mirrors fold in and out.

The Sony radio needs the dash centre frame replacing for it to fit as the Mondeo version points down when in the dash. Personally I would go for a later Cmax/Fiesta ST etc version as you will be able to get a DAB version that will more than likely be Bluetooth telephone ready. So if your car has the loom in place for the Ford Nokia box and mic you will be ready to go.

Dont think the mirrors will fold in when you lock the doors, mine has them as standard and you have to use the switch inside the car to fold/unfold them.

Chris and Kyle. If you wire another relay in you can get the mirrors to fold in.

I bought 2 complete doors which were off a titanium mondy.

Yeh its a cool mod imo. I will have a go at wiring it up.
I noticed my drivers front heated seat didnt work. I took the seat out and apart and found 4 wires had snapped. Hopefully ive fixed this. I couldnt tell if the seat was getting hot cause the sun was shining on the seat lol.

Looks like a real nice cruiser that Glenn. Had a few mondeos and the best family cars I think we've had. Never had the v6, was offered an st220 once off my mate that had an oil leak for ÂŁ1200 and that was a good few years ago now. Should have snapped it up but bought another mk2 Astra gte instead lol

The bracket that glues to the windscreen is different to a auto dimming mirror bracket.
I dont think ive fixed the heated seat. It isnt getting warm. Ive checked the wires under the seat for lives and earths. Surely when working the switch on the dash this should send some sort of power to the heated seat.

As for the seat do neither seat base or back warm up?

The mirror fixing i seen look different to mine. I dont think the back works either but it's hard to tell. I did re solder thewires cause they had snapped. Also when working the switch on the dash for the heated seat the white electrical connector gets power when the switch worked.
Im just gonna have to have another look. Ive got a spare heat mat out of another car.

Thats a cool little mod, no good for me though as I park it tight against the wall in the garage with the mirrors folded in.
Will the puddle lights and global closing/opening work as well then just by adding the tit x doors?

I loved my Mondeo mk3, even as an LX model, it had everything as standard. Electric everything and so comfortable to drive, used to just eat the mileage.
My Focus TdCi sport is just shit, hate it. Only decent thing is it's fuel return of 60mpg. Had to fit map reading lights, wiper delay stalk. Has no one shot up/down on passenger side, total closure

I know what you mean Mike. The wifes old mk1.5 focus was the same. We drove it to pick the mondeo up and it felt like hard work where as the drive back in the mondeo was so easy and comfortable.

I haven't updated this thread about the mondeo.
I think its still a cracking car and i just love getting into it to drive it.
The Zetec s dont have a rear interior light so out came the tape measure and stanley knife.
Surround in
Light in and wired up.
Next up was the sony audio update. 4 sony/ford speakers fitted.
Time to fit the head unit. What i didnt know is the ST and titanium mondeos have a different centre dash console ao the Sony head unit doesnt fitted correctly. So i had to fit a console out of a ST a local guy was breaking.
Radio fitted.
Next up was the folding door mirrors with puddle lights. All you do is get some folding door mirrors and a switch for inside and its just plug and play.
I looked on a good ford site about wiring in a relay so whem you work the remote central locking the mirrors fold in and out.

Lol ive just looked on the first page and ive already mentioned the speakers and interior light. Or well fook it ha ha.
This is the wifes new motor. Its just a 1.6 16v but it goes alright. I also fitted a rear interior light into hers too. I also put some bulbs in the bulb holders for the footwell lights. The holders are there but they zetec don't come with bulbs in them ha ha ha.

Yeh we are picking it up on monday. Its a mk2 facelift.
I took the cossie today. Its never moved in over 2 months. I put the battery lead back on and she just fired up first time. I had a play with a seat leon cupra on my way home from work. I had a slight misfire and i was still pulling away from it. Luckly the misfire cleared up. I still live the old girl.
