Micro switch has gone on rear window meaning it keeps popping open, can I get it off to fit new one? can I fuck.

New grilles are push fit jobbies so theoreticaly the old ones should pull off?

Remove the four bolts at the top of the bumper under the bonnet then you can get your hand in and press on the clips to remove the grills.

I assume it works the same as the M3 ones anyway.

I have mate but that micro switch is not budgung lol

Some pics with new grilles (Hope you're happy Tiif)

One of its arse too lol

New grilles do look a lot more agressive and they are noticably different, which I didn't think they would be a massive difference but there is.

I've got a stable relationship with Palmela Handerson.

Microswitch time..

Does the window pop down if the door is open and you push your finger on the microswitch?

The boot window pops open randomly Ginge, it did it a few months ago, so I bought a new switch and it stopped before I fitted it so didn't change, but started again this week.

Everytime I turn off ignition and doors auto unlock, the boot window pops open.

When I start the car, if I don't pull away quick enough after starting, it'll pop open but wont pop when I am driving along?

It's a wierd one, BMW owners site says fit new switch, but can't atm as it's not coming off and can't force it off as it'd break the window.

Window micro switch is a common problem; mine was broken when I first viewed the car but they replaced it before I collected it.
Hope you get it fixed without breaking anything.

Well the micro switch ended up haunting me!

Woke up Sunday to a flat battery, the boot had popped open and left all interior lights on, flattening the battery!

RAC came to charge battery but they said three hours, so I got my mate to jump start me in his new 5.

After starting, the RAC man turned up 2 1/2 hours earlier then was stated.

I told him, the fault and he whipped out his saw pmsl, brave bloke!

Old switch off and new one fitted, fault has now gone!

So because I am happy with the car again atm I decided to clean it lol

Stage three wash and polish, only managed stage one tonight before getting beaten by the sun going away

New tyres next

Thanks Ginge, I was getting paranoid leaving it anywhere thinking the boot window may pop open leaving me with a flat battery or worse, some one getting in.

I knew in theory what needed to be done to remove the switch, but when he turned up and offered to do it, I just went and put the kettle on and made him a cuppa tea

I also chucked him a drink for doing it

BMW's have issues too lol

Currently waiting for post office to open to tax my van as rear air bag suspension collapsed this morning on way to work.

It's either air bag or air lines, will try and diagnose later on.
