Default Cosworth small end replacement ?

.

After some info, I've got all my parts for a rebuild and ordered small ends.

Is there anything special that needs doing measuring wise or is it just replace and job done.

New pistons and pins are going in as well.

Cheers

Ginger

No it's not a simple replace and job done, you need to measure the clearance between the small end and the pin once the new small end has been fitted, the small end may have to be reemed to the correct size once fitted into the con rod.

A standard cosworth pin is 24mm (new), and the ford manual specifies the small end diameter (fitted) needs to be between 24.007 mm and 24.013 mm.
