Hi have recently bought a rst motocross style helmet and when it is on my head is perfect really comfy but nearly pulls my face off when trying to get it on or off , it was second hand but just wondering if they can go out of shape ie squashed in making the opening oval

Can't comment on whether they can go out of shape, but mine has a similar affect when I take it off!

First of all I would never by a second hand helmet you only have one head . Motocross is a tuff game I had a new one ever year when I did so lo and two helmets every year when I did sidecar motocross. With a helmet it needs to feal good when it's on and not move when you shake your head left and right and up and down and that's with out the strap not done up that's a must with motocross. Any way putting on and off all you have to do is pull the straps to the side / hard this moves the padding and stretches the helmet witch help with getting it on and off hope this helps you .
