Wanted a 4x4 but glad I got the 2wd when I did now

amen!! driven all of them and the 2wd is the best to drive. Found the 3dr unstable and the 4x4's heavy.

Took a work colleague out today in mine as he drives a honda s2000 lets just say he was shocked.

Matt hold on to your cash something will come along😉

I took my mates 2wd saph for a spin when he first got it and it lit the rear wheels up on boost, wasn't expecting it and shocked me. Though I've been in a few other 2wd ones that felt well planted. Suppose it's how u set them up suspension wise, my mates was 350bhp but with standard suspension, it was borderline dangerous lol

I've been in a Dakar edition e92 m3 and yes it was quick but not a patch on a cossie, felt far too smooth. Nice everyday car but the op wants a raw toy and you'll not get that with a German barge lol.

I had an e36 EmmFree a few years ago, sure it was quick and it looked stunning but I just never bonded with it and did get all excited to drive it like I do the cossie

In the October issue of Classic Cars magazine a White Sapphire Cosworth reg number G678 YJN standard with 29,000 miles just sold at auction for Ł25,760!!
Someone made a nice profit on that!!

It does sound like a bargain but I would want to see it , drive it and go right over it before forming an opinion. It does seem pretty good compared to some that have been advertised for a lot more.

Buy a 4x4 and convert it to 2wd if its just driveability you're after, and not any kind of investment/resale value.

I thought that, looks like a good base but you could easily find yourself back up at Ł10k if there are a few issues to sort and also end up painting. Worth a nose over though

The trouble is on a Sapphire Cosworth " the few issues " could be opening up a whole can of worms with one thing leading to another and the bill going up and up.You could find in the end buying a well sorted one may end up being better value for money.
Ł6k in todays market is cheap and it may be a bargain but as always it needs to be driven and checked over thoroughly.

A dealer in Cambridge had a nice white 2wd,original bar exhaust,e plate,80k.
I called but it was gone, price was 14k which I thought was a bit high but it was standard and untouched, well it looked it in the pics.
I would have went for a look if it was there, don't usually like white but a standard 2wd saph suits white and that 1 looked nice.

You could get a nice mk1/2 escort or similar for that sort of cash. Nicely modified ones come up from time to time too.

saffs in white with ambers and a nice set of wheels look stunning. best colour for a saff imo. that 6k saff sounds very cheap. if you could budget to ten grand to cover any issues you could still have a bargain. but then again it could be a money pit. best bet is buying one thats known to be a good un and pay a bit more
