Default brackets

Im fitting merc ml side bars to my 2002 maverick and the only place to attach the brackets would be the chassis rails.
so what would be the best fittings to use to minimize the loss of integrity to the enclosed chassis rails?

just been told about captive nuts? are they any good for what i want to do?

sorry, didnt really explain properly
how would I bolt an L bracket to the bottom of the chassis rail without losing the structural integrity?
