Default Suspension setting for a track day....

Looking for track experienced people to give me a heads up on where a good starting point would be for me to set my coilovers, adjustable tca's and compression struts for my first trackday in November.

Also what kind of tyre pressures should i start with?

Obviously its going to boil down to how i feel comfortable once I've been to a few trackdays etc...

Cheers Billy

When new to the track you need it as soft as possible, don't try to be a hero, soft gives more time and roll. Don't try fast, try smooth. Start at normal pressures, come in after 2-3 laps and the test...they will have gone up by maybe 5-10 psi so let them down to correct pressure when hot but don't forget to pump back up before going home.

Leave your ego at home and grab an instructor, go slow and listen. The slower you go the faster you will become.

If the brake fluid hasn't been changed in a while then get it done, don't put the handbrake on in the pits when hot. Put about 3/4 of a tank of fuel in only.

Don't be afraid, just get out there and do as many laps as poss, have fun and understand you are at the bottom of a massive learning curve....I thought I was the biz in a car until I went to an RMA track day.....3-4 years of learning every month andhumble pie and lots of offs I was pretty quick but still learning every day. Some instructors are bad, some are good but a good one is worth more than 200 bhp boost and the trickest stuff.

Nice one, all sounds good mate.

I'm not an ego man, so getting shown the way by an instructor is no problem to me

Trust me, ive spent way too much time and money on this car to go all Lewis Hamilton on my first outing and end up in a wall
