Default Jaguar S-type

OK not a ford, but who owns a ford on here nowadays

Anyway I know the S-Type in not to everybodys liking looks wise, but I like them.
so what I would like to know is are they anygood, like is the engine solid, I have a 325 e36 , but would like something else and have been looking at the S-Type on AT, can get a 3 litre v6 SE with 70 odd k on for about 3 - 3.5k with FSH, ON A 99-00 are the auto boxes good on them or should i be looking at a manual.
Can get 4 litre v8 there all auto tho, so no point getting one of these as I bet there quite bad on fuel.

Cheers

I quite like them. Some of the bigger engined cars aren't as bad on fuel as what some people think they are. Jags been Jags, aren't without their fair share of problems though:-

Judging by the problems from Jags to BM's on that site, you might get some grief but nothing remains 100% reliable forever. Think of it as a feature, not a fault. One of the guys I work with has twin turbo derv which has been sat at the Dealership for some time as they can't work out the electrical problem connected with the twin turbos.

I like the shape and spec of nearly all the Jag range but something in the back of my mind said stick to BM's. Might be worth trying to blag your nearest garage for a weekend demo test drive to see what you think?
